It’s time for a moment with Mudvayne as the nu-metal troops embark on the “L.D. 50 25th Anniversary Tour.” Joined by Static-X and Vended, they’ll kick things off September 11 in Dubuque, IA, and continue through October 26 in Uncasville, CT.
Mudvayne is celebrating 25 years of their debut album, L.D. 50, which helped kickstart the nu-metal movement as we know it. Songs like “Dig,” “Death Blooms,” and “Nothing to Gein” helped the record earn a gold certification and, to this day, remain setlist staples at all Mudvayne concerts. But the best part of the 2025 trek? You’ll get the rare chance to hear deep cuts as the band performs their debut in its entirety.
Those lesser-played tracks like “Monolith” and “Under My Skin?” They’ll be front and center on the 2025 Mudvayne tour, along with a brand new single! They put out “Hurt People Hurt People” last month after a 16-year break from releasing new music, and fans are eating it up. It’s visceral and vibe-worthy like you’d expect from Mudvayne, and there’s (hopefully) more where that came from.
“Hurt People Hurt People” has probably been around since the beginning of man,” says Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray about the song. “Certainly longer than the phrase ever existed. The endless cycle of projecting our pain onto others. I think I wrote this song as a reminder to myself to break the cycle. We create our own suffering, our own hurt. It’s time for us to create self-love and let go of the pain. It was never ours to begin with.”
It’s a strikingly poetic reflection from a band known for their signature Halloween makeup and wild mosh pits, right? At the end of the day, this metal band is known to incorporate heavy-but-relatable themes into their music — ranging from mental health and substance abuse to politics.
