Mt. Joy 2021 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Mt. Joy is heading to a city near you on tour this fall, and the indie-rock outfit is destined to become your new favorite live band. The next Mt. Joy concert takes place on September 23rd in Chicago, IL, while the tour continues until December 7th in Royal Oak, MI.
Mt. Joy supported The Lumineers on tour in March 2020, before the world shut down practically overnight and the band took a yearlong hiatus from performing. But they wasted no time getting back on stage and began live performances back in May before most artists had even announced their tours!
While this may seem risky, the group exercised safety precautions and performed multiple safe shows over the summer – including Lollapalooza and Hinterland Music Festival. They’ve recently completed a three-week trek across the West Coast, visiting various cities, including their native Los Angeles, and are now ready to hit the East Coast!
They’ve only been around since 2016, but Mt. Joy has accomplished a great deal in the past five years. They’ve played major music festivals, released two highly successful albums, and drawn comparisons to artists like CAAMP and Trampled By Turtles.
It also doesn’t hurt that Mt. Joy concerts are the ideal blend of powerful and precise, with fans and critics applauding the mood. WUSC FM, the radio station at the University of South Carolina, gave a complimentary review of a 2019 Mt. Joy concert that occurred right before the pandemic put live music on pause.
“They performed amazingly live; even the slower songs gave the audience enough energy to dance around and have a good time,” the station said. “Most of their songs are on the slower, more mellow side… and they began with “Astrovan,” “Sheep,” and “Bigfoot.”
These songs will certainly make the setlist on the 2021 Mt. Joy tour, along with new tracks from their 2020 release, Rearrange Us. The indie-rock group always delivers mellow, masterful hits on tour… and you can catch them in the following cities!
