Lil Yachty 2023 Tour Announcement – The Field Trip Tour Schedule
Lil Yachty is heading across the country on “The Field Trip Tour!” The top-charting rapper will begin on September 21st in Washington, DC, continuing through November 5th in Detroit, MI.
“Is it time for a pretty little tour?¿ yes or no?¿ where should I come?¿ pause,” Lil Yachty wrote on Instagram with a short video. In the clip, he raps in front of a crowd of hundreds who hold up their lighters to one of his greatest hits, “Strike (Holster.)” We imagine that the upcoming Lil Yachty tour will be just as lit in every sense of the term! He’s known to put on the ultimate bash, like 2021’s Lyrical Lemonade trek and last year’s Summer Smash 2022, and 2023 will be hotter than ever.
Lil Yachty is supporting his fifth album, Let’s Start Here, released in January 2023. And unlike most platinum songs from the “King of Teens” (a nickname derived from one of his greatest hits), it’s not a hip-hop record! Wait, what? The artist born Miles McCollum went the route of psychedelic rock, pop, soul, and a little funk, on Let’s Start Here. But while people had a lot of questions about his shift in musical direction, it also clearly paid off.
The album debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and was well-received by fans and critics. Rolling Stone gave a stellar review stating that the rapper’s “ambitious left-turn incorporates experimental rock and jazz with near-flawless execution, arriving at something that feels genuinely brand-new.” Meanwhile, AllMusic echoed their sentiments, saying that “the cluttered labyrinth of weird experiments is held together by Yachty himself.”
They concluded by saying that Lil Yachty is “still exhibiting the bold personality and curious spirit he showed on trap beats when singing emotively over psychedelic instrumentals”. And where is the lie? McCollum has transitioned into his Let’s Start Here era with the utmost ease, performing new songs like “The Black Seminole,” “We Saw the Sun!” and “Drive Me Crazy!” like a pro.
He’ll always have a place in the hip-hop world, as shown by his recent slots at music festivals like Rolling Loud and Something in the Water. However, Lil Yachty is also ready to show the world a new side of himself…and he’s doing it on the Field Trip Tour! Get your tickets now for the following dates.
