Kansas 2023-2024 Tour Announcement – 50th Anniversary Tour Schedule
Kansas is celebrating its 50th-anniversary tour in a city near you! The progressive rock heroes will kick off the “Another Fork in the Road tour” on June 2nd in Pittsburgh, PA, continuing for over six months before concluding on January 28th, 2024, in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
“Our entire career has been a winding journey,” says Kansas guitarist Richard Williams. “Whether it’s been the ‘original’ lineup signing with Don Kirshner, years on the bus, touring with QUEEN, worldwide success peaking with ‘Leftoverture’ and ‘Point Of Know Return’, the valleys of the ’90s and ‘dinosaur bands’ losing steam, various lineup changes, to our most recent ‘rebirth’ and success of our latest new music over the last eight years — there have been several forks in the road of that journey. This 50th-anniversary tour and release will represent that journey and the forks along that road.”
As the name suggests, the band began a half-century ago in Topeka, KS, creating a blend of Southern, hard, and progressive rock that would soon become their signature sound. Sixteen albums (with 15 million copies sold!), plus endless hit singles and accolades later, they’ve become known as one of the best art rock bands in the business. “Carry on Wayward Son” is arguably their biggest hit, but it’s just the beginning of their extensive catalog that dates back decades. There’s no telling how many, or which, tracks they’ll be playing on this Kansas tour, as frontman Ronnie Platt has even joked about to the press.
“I’m incredibly excited about the 50th-anniversary tour. I tell people I’m not allowed to create a setlist because it would be five hours long,” Platt admits. “There are so many songs I want to perform live. I think fans will be excited not only to hear our hits and fan favorites spanning 50 years of Kansas but also some songs that haven’t been performed live in decades.” What songs could he be referring to, exactly? We love the songs that everybody knows, like “Play the Game Tonight,” “Miracles Out of Nowhere,” and “Dust in the Wind.” However, we’re also holding out hope to hear some underrated essentials, like “Stay Out of Trouble” and “A Glimpse of Home!”
With over half a year’s worth of Kansas concerts and a half-century catalog of Southern-progressive rock hits, this trek will be one to remember. Get your Kansas tickets today!
