Johnnyswim 2023 Tour Announcement – The Johnnyswim Stories Tour Schedule
Johnnyswim is heading on “The Johnnyswim Stories Tour” later in 2023! The folk-pop duo, who happen to be husband-and-wife, will begin on September 5th in Lake Buena Vista, FL. They’ll stop in fourteen cities before concluding on October 25th in St. Louis, MO.
This trek will support their latest self-titled album, which was released to incredible reviews in 2022. While fans got a taste of the new project, including the single “Heaven is Everywhere,” on last year’s holiday tour…these shows will be a full-blown celebration! Johnnyswim has been making sweet music together, in more ways than one, for nearly two decades now. And it’s never been more evident than on their self-titled record that gives a glimpse into their loving personal and professional relationship.
“The genius of Johnnyswim is how they manage to coax uplift from these difficult topics on this standout record,” wrote American Songwriter in a spectacular album review. “Their gorgeous vocal interplay, long a trademark of the duo, certainly helps, as it winds through both danceable up-tempo grooves and emotional balladry.” “But the writing also stands out for its fearlessness and insight,” it continued, “Take, for example, the opening track “Devastating,” which muses on the notion that tragedy will ultimately befall even ideal couplings.”
Johnnyswim, comprised of Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez, are known to tackle all types of topics in their songwriting. AKA, not only the good times. They’ve sung about tragic losses, the struggles of parenting as musicians, relationship issues, and more. But they also put a folk-pop spin on these touchy subjects that make them more beautifully relatable than rocky. And you’ll feel their chemistry from the moment they take the stage together with these semi-new songs. This includes Johnnyswim’s latest of many collaborations with Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors, called “Sing It Out Loud!”
“For me ‘Sing it out Loud’ is special,” said Sudano. “We wrote it backstage at a show when the pandemic was just starting and you were just starting to hear whispers of things closing down and things happening. And we were still in this place of wanting to be together and wanting to say it’s okay if things are scary, we’re going to keep partying on until we can’t party anymore. Especially at the moment, it was really really important to us and then the fact that we then recorded it after these years of being off the road and being isolated, added a special note to it for us.
“Writing it before the pandemic and then singing it after is something that’s really special,” she concluded, and fans can agree. We’ve had a blast seeing Johnnyswim concerts both before and after the world transformed, and they can’t wait to give you a taste of their new world in every way. Will you be there?
