Noname 2023 Tour Announcement – Sundial Tour Schedule
Noname is all set for the “Sundial Tour,” her first full-length trek in four years! The rapper-producer-poet will begin on October 11th in her hometown of Chicago, IL. She’ll stop in cities like New York, NY, Dallas, TX, Seattle, WA, and more before concluding on November 15th in Portland, OR.
Celebrating her sophomore album, Sundial, this Noname tour and project have been a long time coming. It may be her first album in half a decade, since 2018’s Room 25, but the 31-year-old artist has always aimed for quality over quality. Her first mixtape, 2016’s Telefone, was a hit amongst the slam poetry, hip-hop, and jazz crowds, while Room 25 had every music critic clutching their headphones in awe. It’s not an exaggeration, as the album ranked within the top ten of “Best Albums of 2018” lists from Esquire, GQ, and Exclaim!
Does Noname have big shoes (or rather, beats) to fill with Sundial? Sure, but she’s already proven that this is no sophomore slump. New songs like “Balloons,” “Hold Me Down,” and “Afro Futurism” have been ringing in our heads for weeks now! In addition to her all-star collaborators like Common, Billy Woods, and Erykah Badu, critics are obsessed with this project that they agree is some of Noname’s best work yet. Rolling Stone praises the “jazzy grooves and revolutionary politics,” while The Guardian gave a four-star review and applauded Noname’s ability to stand up for herself and others through song.
Many of Noname’s tracks are centered around the Black American experience. She’s admitted that she almost quit music in 2019 due to frustration of catering to a mainly white fanbase, and gives her community the spotlight they deserve on every song. Some of these lyrics are deeply crude and downright shocking, but Noname simply doesn’t care…and that’s part of her charm. She’s always made music purely for herself, and it’s an added bonus that we’re all obsessed with every album she puts out.
That being said, she’s incredibly excited to hit the road on her first Noname tour in years! Get ready to snap and sing along to every song at the following dates, with tickets available now.
