Charly Bliss will join them at most headlining Jimmy Eat World concerts, while they will also make an appearance at Riot Fest in Chicago, IL. It was just recently that the group wrapped up their last Jimmy Eat World tour, an emo-approved trek alongside Dashboard Confessional dubbed “Surviving the Truth.” However, they’re not even close to finished performing in 2022. The band continues to support their most recent album, 2019’s Surviving, while fans are holding out hope for some new songs on this Jimmy Eat World tour.
Jimmy Eat World has inspired tons of pop-punk and alternative rock bands after them, and it’s easy to see why. Tracks like “The Middle,” “Sweetness,” “For Me This is Heaven,” and “555” are sweet, catchy, and the perfect songs for dancing in the crowd at a rock concert. Their artistry has evolved over their three decades as a band, going from an emo outfit to pop-punk veterans, but they’re arguably in one of the best spots of their career in 2022. It’s time to celebrate their 30th anniversary in just a few short months!
While the band hasn’t said anything about new music, there are a few clues that we might get some never-before-heard tracks at these Jimmy Eat World concerts. The first is that the band religiously releases an album every three years. Invented came out in 2010, Damage in 2013, Integrity Blues in 2016, and finally, their tenth, Surviving, in 2019. Sure, the pandemic may have slowed down the songwriting process, but it’s a good indication that a new record is just around the corner. We can’t wait to see what the band has up their sleeve on this Jimmy Eat World tour with a setlist of classic and possibly newly-created songs.
