Jewel and Melissa Etheridge are sharing the stage in 2024! The two legendary divas will begin on July 11th in Bonner, MT, continuing through October 5th in Rogers, AK.
The two women have quite a bit in common, from their respective rises to fame in the 1990s to endless philanthropic efforts and a mutual love for country music. But while Etheridge’s sound is rooted in heartland rock and folk, Jewel is a mainstay in mainstream folk-pop-country. And these distinctive sets of artistry will play off each other for some of the most diva-fied, diverse shows of 2024.
Melissa Etheridge, known for her raspy voice and heartfelt songwriting that easily amps up a sold-out arena, will garner applause the moment she pulls out her guitar. With standout tracks like “I’m The Only One,” “Come To My Window,” and “Like The Way I Do,” you’ll see why her empowering anthems that touched the hearts of millions.
Furthermore, while it’s been a tough few years for Etheridge, facing the tragic death of her son along with the pandemic, she managed to pour her heart into her music once again. Her sixteenth and latest album, 2021’s One Way Out, is a powerful mix of tracks that she wrote early in her career, but felt like she couldn’t release until now. Dealing with themes of heartbreak, family, loss, and the LGBTQ community she’s supported for decades, these new songs will have you shedding tears at her remarkable journey.
And then there’s Jewel, the musical icon who’s never shied away from one genre or another. Sometimes she’s country-pop, other times she’s more on the folk side. But regardless of what she’s singing, her onstage energy and immense dedication to her fans remains consistent. The 49-year-old singer is supporting her three-decade artistry, including her thirteenth and latest album, 2022’s Freewheelin’ Woman, along with the 25th anniversary of 1998’s Spirit.
“I made a decision, I think really young — by 20, 21 — to just say, ‘I get to do whatever I want, whenever I want, however I want,” Jewel told People last year, referring to her genre-bending ways. “I’m never going to succumb to the pressure. And so whether people like musical genres I did or didn’t do, it was me. It was just me wanting to do whatever I wanted to do.” On the contrary, her musical experimentation has made her an icon and earned her legions of fans from every corner of the industry. All of whom will show up for this first-of-its-kind collaboration between two 90s favorites.
