Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit 2023 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule

Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit are heading into spring 2023 with a new album and tour! These shows will begin on March 1st in Calgary, AB, continuing through August 13th in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Isbell’s ninth album with The 400 Unit, called Weathervanes, is set to be released in June… and the Americana hero gave fans a sneak peek with a teaser trailer. Narrated by ESPN’s Wright Thompson, the two-minute video refers to Isbell as a “storyteller at the peak of his craft, observing his fellow wanderers.” After a few more well-deserved kudos, the narrator announces that Isbell will release “his latest collection of grown-up songs” in 2023. Track titles like “Death Wish,” “Cast Iron Skillet,” and “Volunteer” are revealed, which he describes as “songs about adult love, about change, about the danger of nostalgia and the interrogation of myths, about cruelty and regret and redemption.” 

Concluding with the declaration that these are “life and death songs played for and by grown-ass people,” it’s safe to say that he’s hyped them up! Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit never disappoint with their Americana, folk, and Southern rock essentials. And for the record, we have no doubts that they’ve gone all out for their first original record since 2020’s Reunions. As for the subject matter of Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit’s songs? The four-time Grammy winners are known to write about everything from his childhood in Alabama to the current political climate, and we can’t wait to see what he’ll sing about this time.
