ITZY 2022 Tour Announcement – Checkmate Tour Schedule
ITZY is the latest set of K-pop superstars to embark on a North American tour! The five-piece girl group will kick off the CHECKMATE tour beginning October 26th in Los Angeles, CA, making stops in Phoenix, AZ, Houston, TX, Boston, MA, and more before wrapping up on November 13th in New York, NY.
It’s an exciting time for the first-ever ITZY tour across the globe, and the setlist will be packed with new K-pop hits. They released their debut album, Crazy in Love, in fall 2021, which peaked at No. 11 on the US Billboard 200, and will be releasing their fifth EP, Checkmate, very soon. It’s certainly not a bad resume for a group that’s only been around for three years, but ITZY has been itching to play these tracks on stage since 2019. With live music back in business, the girl group is planning to show the US why they’re one of Seoul’s greatest acts.

NME described Crazy in Love as “conceptually and logically sound in ushering in an era of maturity for ITZY.” It was an accurate depictor at the time, but now we’re starting to think that Checkmate is what will push ITZY even further out of their comfort zone. They never had the chance to perform for global audiences, given that they formed a year before the pandemic, but will now have an entire lineup of old and new songs to choose for the setlist. The smaller number of members compared to other K-pop groups means that each one will get their turn in the spotlight, and we can’t wait to see what ITZY has up their multi-colored, edgy-dressed sleeves.
