Elevation Worship 2022 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Elevation Worship is taking its spiritual show on the road in summer 2022, announcing a 13-show tour with Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes. The contemporary worship group will kick off on August 5th in Grand Prairie, TX, and continue through the 21st in New York, NY.
“We’re so excited to be back out on the road worshiping and rattling in so many cities this summer,” said Chris Brown of Elevation Worship. “And having Kari and Cody with us is going to make for some very special nights.” The Elevation Worship tour was announced alongside a video, reminding you that they aren’t your typical worship group. Expect plenty of harmonizing, handfuls of confetti, and countless messages of hope and faith on this multi-city trek.
The seven members of Elevation Worship are used to performing in massive venues, harmonizing at church in their hometown of Charlotte, NC, when they aren’t touring. However, their stint at Radio City Music Hall may be a new high for the heavenly group. They’ve just released their tenth live album, Lion, which debuted at No.2 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and contained plenty of songs to fill one of Manhattan’s most prominent venues.
“Might Get Loud” is the lead single from Lion, blending rock, pop, and blues elements over spiritual lyrics. It shows how Elevation Worship puts the “contemporary” into contemporary worship music, and it only continues with new songs like “What I See,” “This Is The Kingdom,” and “Same God.”
“Worship music as we experience it today has quickly developed a pretty small box that it writes within, and we have written within that small box for years,” Brown told American Songwriter about the writing process for Lion. “And, of course, that’s like any genre or style. The importance of understanding the rules for any genre and why there are rules is so critical.” So we did that for years,” he continued, “but in the last 18 months, it’s been a fun exploration for us to challenge our own mindsets about what quote-unquote worship music is.”
Elevation Worship has made worship music its own for around thirteen years, releasing eight studio albums and receiving plenty of accolades. They’ve been nominated for two Grammy Awards and eight Billboard Music Awards (winning two,) plus gained legions of fans who fly out to see them in both their North Carolina church and the country’s biggest venues. They’re going to have a fun and faithful time on the upcoming Elevation Worship tour, and can’t wait to see you on the following dates!
