“Better Days” are ahead with the upcoming Dermot Kennedy tour, which takes the Irish singer around the US as he performs his folk, pop, and hip-hop hits in 13 cities. The Better Days tour begins on July 29th in Nashville, TN, and continues through August 19th in Boston, MA.
Dermot Kennedy is one of the UK’s biggest artists, and he’s ready to bring his folk-pop hits to the US for his seemingly biggest tour yet. While it’s not the longest or most extravagant expedition that Kennedy has done, it still marks the first time that the performer gets to step onstage in nearly two years, since before the pandemic. That’s certainly a reason to celebrate!
His fans certainly agree, as Dermot Kennedy tickets are going quickly! The singer’s debut album, Without Fear, was released in October 2019. As of March 2021, it has spent 24 consecutive weeks at the top of the Irish charts… with fans applauding Kennedy’s dark and beautiful vocals on songs like “Moments Passed,” “Power Over Me,” and “Lost.”
While Kennedy’s sound typically falls on the folk-pop spectrum, he has plenty of hip-hop influences in J.Cole and Stormzy. While it’s unclear when Kennedy will release the much-awaited follow-up to Without Fear, fans can certainly expect a mature sound that blends multiple genres in a beautiful way.
GQ Magazine gave Kennedy quite the compliment in 2018, describing him as a “singer with a rich, reverberant voice, with epically emotive songwriting skills (think Ed Sheeran, but darker, more melancholy).” Is Kennedy the next Ed Sheeran? There are certainly similarities, but Dermot Kennedy has established himself as one of the most talented artists across multiple continents, with his own distinctive sound.
