Dashboard Confessional 2022 Tour Announcement – Surviving the Truth Tour Schedule
Dashboard Confessional will soon begin the Surviving the Truth tour with Jimmy Eat World, celebrating the release of their eighth record, All the Truth That I Can Tell. Catch the alt-rock icons beginning February 27th in Albuquerque, NM, with shows continuing through March 22nd in Houston, TX.
The name of this Dashboard Confessional tour is a mashup from both them and their tourmate’s most recent records. While “the truth” refers to their brand new album released in February 2022, the “Surviving” aspect comes from Jimmy Eat World’s 2019 record of the same name. The two groups go way back, sharing the stage at Warped Tour and other alt-rock festivals, and this Dashboard Confessional tour is a dream come true for retired emo kids.
Chris Carrabba, the founder and most consistent member of Dashboard Confessional, has been an emo icon since 1999. Fans may remember songs like “Don’t Wait,” “Stolen,” “Heart Beat Here,” and “Vindicated,” the last of which dates back to 2004 when it was featured on the soundtrack for the first era of Spiderman. Yes, we’re talking about the Toby Maguire version. He has an entire catalog of hits to bring the nostalgia, powered by new tunes that fans can’t wait to hear live for the first time.
Rolling Stone gave All the Truth That I Can Tell, Carabba’s first album in four years, a three-and-a-half star rating with a solid review. Described as a “veritable concept album about hitting your mid-40s with full-sleeve tats, a long marriage, and a couple of kids,” the publication praised new songs like “Burning Heart” and “Sunshine State.” It’s a record that’s made for rock fans of every generation, with a bit of help from Jimmy Eat World for one of the best emo expeditions of 2022.
