Blondie 2022 Tour Announcement – Against the Odds Tour Schedule
Blondie is gearing up for the Against the Odds tour in spring 2022, joined by The Damned for 14 shows across the country. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will begin performing on April 14th in Huntington, NY, with up to three-month breaks in between before the final show occurs on August 27th in Chicago, IL.
Blondie is a band that needs no introduction. Debby Harry and Chris Stein formed the group in New York City back in the 1970s – becoming new-wave pioneers, multiplatinum recording artists, and punk rock icons, to name a few things. Have we convinced you that you need Blondie tickets yet? Harry rocks just as hard at 76 years old as she did decades ago, and it’s not every day that you get up close and personal with a set of rock and roll legends.
While they took a fifteen-year hiatus in the 80s and 90s, the group has been solid since 1997. They’ve sold out arenas and released eleven studio albums that incorporate pop, rock, funk, reggae, and occasionally rap. You likely know their biggest songs, like “Call Me,” “Hanging On The Telephone,” and “Rip Her to Shreds,” but the catalog of Blondie hits dates back way farther,
Uncut tracks, song covers, and maybe even new songs aren’t out of the question on a Blondie tour. The group is known for surprising their fans, and it seems like they can’t stay away from their rightful home: the stage. Sure, there have been rumors for well over a decade that the group will stop performing at some point, which drummer Clem Burke even addressed years ago, but it doesn’t seem like it’s happening anytime soon!
“As for the rumors of the last tour, we’ve decided we’ll live forever, he joked to Uncut in 2014.
“But Debbie, is older than me and has hinted it could be time. Obviously, without her, there is no Blondie.” Harry is undoubtedly the face of the band and has continued to take the stage nearly every year since this statement. So much for the final tour! That being said, you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to see a true rock and roll and feminist icon in the flesh in 2022.
