Between the Buried and Me is taking things back to 2012 with the “The Parallax II: Future Sequence Anniversary Tour!” The progressive-metal band’s self-professed favorite album is turning ten years old, and they’ll be celebrating its birthday with a series of exciting shows. They’ll kick off on June 16th in Charleston, SC, making stops in Albany, NY, Columbus, OH, Anaheim, CA, and more before concluding on July 31st in Winston-Salem, NC.
Fresh off the “Island in Liumbo tour” across the pond, Between the Buried and Me are ready to head home to the United States. And not just for any trek, but a decade-long celebration of one of their favorite records! You see, The Parallax II: Future Sequence was a seriously big deal for the North Carolina band and their longtime fans. It took a breather from their progressive and death metal roots for a more mature and dynamic sound.
Songs like “Parallax,” “Telos,” and “Bloom” were a sign of growth for frontman Tommy Giles Rogers and his bandmates. And notably, one that has followed them through every album in the past decade since. Modern releases like 2018’s Automatica II and 2021’s Colors II show hints of the 1970s jazz and progressive rock styles that were present in their 2012 album. With a side of hard-hitting metalcore and thrash style that BTBAM is known for, of course.
