NEEDTOBREATHE 2027 Tour Announcement – The Long Surrender Tour Schedule

NEEDTOBREATHE are apparently having too much fun with The Long Surrender to, well, surrender it from the setlist just yet. The South Carolina Christian rockers have announced “The Long Surrender and The Fellow Passengers of Pain Tour,” kicking off February 18, 2027 in Omaha before visiting Minneapolis, Kansas City, Cincinnati, Lancaster, Brooklyn, Boston, Washington, D.C., Pittsburgh, Orlando, New Orleans and more. The run wraps March 20 in Houston, with Drew & Ellie Holcomb, Conner Smith, and The National Parks rotating as special guests along the way.

“In the beginning I didn’t even think I was writing for a record—I was just writing in a therapeutic way, trying to get my head around what I wanted my life to look like going forward,” frontman Bear Rinehart said. “There’s always been a guardedness as far as how personal I get in the songs, or how overtly I express certain things, but this time I was writing everything down as I was going through it. It felt like the songs were coming from a different place, and where we ended up almost feels like a whole new band.”

The Long Surrender was released earlier this year, coming together after Rinehart’s accidental connection with producer Dave Cobb while recording “Momma Loves Me” with The Red Clay Strays. That became one of the singles, joining “Where You Call Home” and newer tracks like “Say It Now,” “Highlands,” and “Sing To Me Savannah,” all of which capture the band’s feelings as they were working through them in real time. Rinehart has described surrender as less of a single decision and more of something you have to keep choosing — which, to be fair, is very on-brand for a band like NEEDTOBREATHE.

But also, the newer songs have plenty of company in the setlist. “Brother,” “Multiplied,” “Something Beautiful,” “TESTIFY,” “Who Am I,” and “Washed by the Water” have all become NEEDTOBREATHE live staples over the years, balancing the spiritual side of the band with enough rock, soul, and Southern grit to keep things from ever feeling too worship-focused. Their shows have always had that strange ability to make one minute feel like church and the next like a sweaty rock concert…and occasionally both at once.

And that crossover appeal is a huge part of their legacy. Since forming more than two decades ago, NEEDTOBREATHE have built a career that extends well beyond the Christian rock label, earning mainstream radio play, major festival slots, Grammy recognition, and a fiercely loyal fanbase along the way.
