Cage the Elephant is on fire in 2025! The Kentucky alt-rock band is continuing the “Neon Pill tour” across dozens more US cities, beginning on October 4th in San Antonio, TX. They’ll continue through the 30th in Boston, MA, while you’ll also get the chance to see them at events like Shaky Knees, Bourbon & Beyond, and their joint dates with Oasis.
The 2025 Cage the Elephant tour continues to support Neon Pill, the band’s 2024 sixth studio album and their first in five years. Featuring singles like “Out Loud,” “Good Time,” and “Metaverse,” this album marks a deeply personal shift for frontman Matt Shultz. He wasn’t shy about incorporating his struggles with grief and mental health into his lyrics, helping millions of listeners feel less alone while banging their heads to the best alternative beats.
“With this album, having gone through so much, life had almost forced us into becoming more and more comfortable with ourselves,” Shultz said in a statement. “We weren’t reaching for much outside of the pure experience of self expression, and simultaneously not necessarily settling either. We just found a uniqueness in simply existing.” The result? One of the most heartfelt Cage The Elephant albums of their nearly two-decade career.
These songs brought the Kentucky band’s creative vision to life with their trademark mix of alternative, indie, psychedelic, and garage rock, and Shultz sees it as a major milestone. “To me, Neon Pill is the first record where we were consistently uninfluenced, and I mean that in a positive way,” he says. “Everything is undoubtedly expressed through having settled into finding our own voice.” That’s not shade to the bands who have inspired them in the past, just a nod to the band finally coming into their own in a unique fashion….
