The Who 2025 Tour Announcement – The Song Is Over Tour Schedule

The Who are taking their final bow in 2025; and the legendary rockers are saying goodbye with a bang! Joined by Billy Idol, Feist, Tom Cochrane, Joe Bonamassa and more, they’ll begin their “The Song Is Over Tour” on August 16th in Sunrise, FL. The band will stop in Atlantic City, NJ, Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA, and more before concluding on September 28th in Las Vegas, NV.

“Well, all good things must come to an end,” says guitarist Pete Townshend. “It is a poignant time. For me, playing to American audiences and those in Canada has always been incredible. The warmth and engagement of those audiences began back in 1967 with hippies smoking dope, sitting on their blankets and listening deeply and intensely. Music was everywhere. We all felt equal.”

“I must say that although the road has not always been enjoyable for me, it is usually easy: the best job I could ever have had,” he continued. “I keep coming back. Every time I do, I meet new fans and feel new energy. Roger and I are in a good place, despite our age, eager to throw our weight behind this fond farewell to all our faithful fans, and hopefully to new ones who might jump in to see what they have been missing for the last 57 years.”

Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey — now both in their 80s — have hinted at this goodbye for a while. And while the time has finally come for them to say their official farewell, don’t think that The Who will go quietly! The group is bringing a full orchestra to many dates, adding cinematic flair torock opera classics like “Baba O’Riley,” “My Generation,” “”Behind Blue Eyes” and “Who Are You.”

Even if you weren’t around to witness their rise to fame over the past six decades (which, most of us weren’t) the last The Who tour will be a lesson in nostalgia and never-ending rock and roll. Since forming in London in the 1960s, The Who has become one of the most iconic groups of all time — often credited with developing the ‘rock opera’ and unleashing a fury of synthesizers and power chords on all lucky enough to hear them live.

All you need to do is watch their iconic Woodstock 1969 performance to believe it, which is still talked about with awe across the music world even a half-decade later. It earned them hundreds of thousands of fans, established their status as rock gods, and partially helped them get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 1990! They’ve also sold millions of records, inspired countless other bands in the rock scene…need we go on?

While goodbyes are often bittersweet, Townshend and Daltrey have made it clear that the farewell The Who tour is, first and foremost, a celebration. The band will highlight over 50 years of revolution and rebellion through music, including deeper cuts that don’t always make the setlist. Longtime fans are especially excited about the inclusion of tracks from 1973’s Quadrophenia, while newer ones will rejoice over their latest album 2019’s Who.

Get ready to rock with these iconic artists, because tickets to the Who’s farewell tour are available now!
