Godsmack 2024 Tour Announcement – Vibez Tour Schedule
The “Vibez” will be immaculate on the next Godsmack tour! The hard rock heroes have announced the “Vibez Tour” for 2024, beginning on February 15th in Catoosa, OK. Joined by special guest special guest Bastian da Cruz, they’ll stop in 30+ cities before finishing up on May 5th in Oxon Hill, MD.
Promising “an intimate evening of acoustic/electric performances and untold stories,” these Godsmack concerts will surely stand out. You’re usually pumping your fists and inching into the mosh pit rather than pulling out your lighter, right? But, following the lead of their friends in Breaking Benjamin, the guys in Godsmack are taking things slow next year. They’re ready for a series of stripped down and intricate performances that put a mellow, melodic spin on their rock classics, and we can’t wait to hear it.

They just released the eighth and latest Godsmack album, Lighting Up The Sky, last February, which is just as heavy as you’d expect. New singles like “Surrender,” “You and I,” and “Soul On Fire” are a heart-pumping, harmonious selection of immaculate grunge! Therefore, one must ask…why is the band feeling so emotional, and putting a slowed-down, spiritual spin on the heavy tracks that helped make them famous? Long story short: this will most likely be the last Godsmack album, but it’s not as gasp-worthy as it sounds.
“I’m not saying it’s all because we’re old,” Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin, who is 56, told Blabbermouth about not putting out any new songs. “We also feel like we’ve had great success — we haven’t had a flop — and we don’t wanna keep on going until we get a flop and then have to go out like that. So our thinking was go out on top. We had an additional two years to write a record, with this pandemic, so we threw out more songs than what made the record. And we feel — like everybody band says — but we feel like it’s our best record yet.
“We’re not saying we’re gonna break up; we’re not breaking up,” Larkin clarified. “There’s a thing called cycle touring. So you put a record out. That’s a product. And we sell it, and we make money. But it’s still a product that we have to sell, and if your product doesn’t sell, then you let down a lot of people. And so there’s pressure to be in a band like ours.” More or less, he’s saying that Godsmack tours will still be plentiful in the coming years, even without new records to look forward to. And that’s just fine with us.
As the band inches up on their 30th anniversary, it’s safe to say they’ve earned a break.
