Corey Taylor 2023 Tour Announcement – CMF2 Tour Schedule
Corey Taylor is touring in support of his upcoming solo album, CMF2! Joined by Wargasm, Oxymorrons, and Luna Aura, the metal icon will begin on August 25th in Denver, CO. These dates will continue through October 5th in Los Angeles, CA.
Needless to say, it’s going to be a busy year for Corey Taylor. He’ll soon embark on a massive European tour with Slipknot, the legendary masked metal band that he’s fronted for decades. But Taylor still has time to celebrate his much-anticipated sophomore solo album — a follow-up to 2020’s CMFT. Set for release on September 15th, CMF2 will show you another side of the world-famous rocker. You know, one that isn’t hiding behind a gruesome mask or recording studio booth!
Don’t get us wrong, Taylor has always worn his heart on his sleeve… whether he’s opening up about his rough childhood in an interview or growling about his early rock star life through lyrics. He’s holding nothing back on his latest project, which he discussed in a recent sitdown with Billboard. “It [CMF2] eats the first one and spits it out,” he told the publication, referring to his previous solo album.
While he’s “really proud” of the debut, it also “felt like where we were coming from,” while his 2023 sophomore record “feels like where we’re going.” For his latest effort, Corey Taylor and his pals “decided to up the stakes,” describing the music as “more expansive.” “There’s heavier stuff, there’s darker stuff it paints with the whole palate like the first album, but there’s not there man,” he says. “To me, it’s the best rock album of this year and next year. It’s that good.”
It’s a grand statement, but one that we have no doubts that Taylor can live up to. Just listen to the first single off CMF2, called “Beyond!” It’s an instantaneous hard rock hit that borrows elements from his time in Slipknot and Stone Sour, while still remaining purely individualistic. It’s not an easy feat for a guy with three top-selling metal bands, but at this point, we’re convinced that there’s nothing Corey Taylor can’t do.
Don’t believe us? You’ll just have to see for yourself! Pre-order CMF2 today and get your tickets to see Corey Taylor in the following cities:
