SZA 2023 Tour Announcement – SOS Tour Schedule
SZA is heading on the “SOS tour” with Omar Apollo in early 2023, named for her sophomore album! The megastar R&B singer will kick off on February 21st in Columbus, OH, making stops in Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Seattle, WA, and more before concluding on March 23rd in Los Angeles, CA.
While we had to wait five years for SZA’s second album, fans and critics agree that it was definitely worth it! SOS received critical acclaim when it was released in December 2022, with praise on new songs like “Good Days,” “I Hate U,” and “Nobody Gets Me,” plus her musical growth since her 2017 debut, Ctrl. If you thought these songs were iconic when blasted through your car stereo, just wait until you hear them live on the big stage! SZA is visiting 17 cities to celebrate SOS in all its glory, as this album marks a new chapter for the R&B hitmaker.
She didn’t exactly disappear between 2017 and 2022, as she was present on hit singles like Summer Walker’s “No Love” and “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat. However, she took her time trying to get SOS exactly right, and it clearly paid off. Consequence, Brooklyn Vegan, and Variety all ranked the project as one of the best albums of 2022, while NME gave an extremely-rare five-star rating and called SOS “a phenomenal record that barely puts a foot wrong and raises the bar even higher than she set it before.”
Of course, there’s also a catch, as SZA has stated that her sophomore album will be her last. That can’t be true, can it?! She changed the face of R&B for millennials with Ctrl and is doing so again with SOS, and we can’t imagine a musical world without SZA. Only time will tell, but we’re soaking up every last bit of SZA we can get.
