Paramore 2022 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Who else can’t wait for the first Paramore tour in four years? The famed alternative rock outfit has announced a new set of Paramore concerts, kicking off October 2nd in Bakersfield, CA, and continuing through November 16th in St. Augustine, FL.
Including stops at music festivals like Austin City Limits and When We Were Young, this Paramore tour has been a long time coming. The former emo darlings have teased new music and tour dates for months! Frontwoman Hayley Williams jokingly wrote in a 2021 newsletter that “Paramore can’t be ‘on a break’ forever now, can we?” while they also confirmed that they’re currently working on their sixth record.
The group certainly deserved the career break after releasing their fifth album, 2017’s After Laughter. Frontwoman Hayley Williams released two solo albums, sang an acoustic cover of “Misery Business” with Billie Eilish at Coachella, and grew her Good Dye Young haircare line. Meanwhile, drummer Zac Farro and guitarist Taylor York worked on their own musical endeavors. Of course, the longtime friends and bandmates can never resist another Paramore tour, and you can see their bond firsthand with these performances.
Can you believe that Paramore has been around for almost two decades? The group became Warped Tour staples in 2005 with their debut album, All We Know is Falling, and sealed their legacy in the alternative rock scene with records like Riot! and Brand New Eyes. Hayley Williams has long been known as an idol for young female artists like Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo, while 2000s anthems like “Misery Business,” “Ignorance,” and “The Only Exception” live rent-free in millennial’s heads.
They turned a corner with After Laughter five years ago, trading their alternative rock and emo sound for more pop and funk-inspired tracks. “Ain’t it Fun” and “Hard Times” killed it on the charts, and now fans are wondering which direction they’ll go for the sixth record. Will they join the emo revival of 2022 with a comeback record or stick to their Top 40 essentials? The answer is both, and also neither.
“The music we were first excited by wasn’t exactly the kind of music we went on to make,” Williams told Rolling Stone. “Our output has always been all over the place, and with this project, it’s not that different.” She continued, “We’re still in the thick of it, but some things have remained consistent from the start. 1) More emphasis back on the guitar, and 2) Zac should go as Animal as he wants with drum takes.” Guitars were a significant part of the earlier Paramore era, but who doesn’t love hearing Hayley belt along to a pop-funk track? The possibilities are endless with this Paramore tour and the new record, and we can’t wait to see what they have for us. Get your tickets today!
