Duran Duran 2022 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule

Duran Duran is coming to a city near you in summer 2022, and we can’t wait to see the British new-wave heroes! Joined by Nile Rodgers and Chic on select dates, they’ll begin the trek on August 19th in Welch, MN, and continue through September 11th in Los Angeles, CA. 

Fans old and new have loved all the Duran Duran they’ve seen lately in the media. The quartet performed their latest single, “Tonight United,” in March 2022 on The Late Late Show with James Corden and even made headlines when they shone blue and yellow on the Capitol Records building in Los Angeles in support of the people of Ukraine. 

“We are appealing to our fans in Russia to have an open heart and to support peace. We are all hoping you can get back to an ‘Ordinary World.’” said bass player John Taylor, referencing their 1993 song of the same name. Duran Duran knows how to have fun but has always come through with words of encouragement and philanthropic efforts in the darkest of times. It’s just one of the reasons to love the band, who have delivered dance-worthy hits (with all types of empathy) for decades. 

This statement is proven with their October 2021 release, Future Past, which marked the fifteenth Duran Duran album and first in six years. It features singles like “Invisible,” “Anniversary,” and “More Joy!” which combine upbeat choruses with mixed emotions for a synth-pop masterpiece.

“Many of the songs are about emotional crises or long-term intimacy issues, let’s call them,” Taylor said about Future Past. “When we came back after lockdown, I felt that those lyrics, particularly ‘Invisible,’ spoke to the moment because the last 18 months have really been about intimacy politics.” Now that concerts have returned post-pandemic, intimacy is one thing you’re guaranteed on the Duran Duran tour. Along with pop-rock hits both old and new.

Synth-pop is a chart-topping sound in 2022, but Duran Duran has been doing it since the 1980s. The quartet made (new) waves around the world with their hits like “Rio,” “Hungry Like the Wolf,” and “Ordinary World,” and they’ve only continued throughout the decades.
