The Chicks 2022 Tour Announcement – Gaslighter Tour Schedule

The Chicks have announced a summer 2022 tour in support of their latest album, Gaslighter. Marking the group’s first trek since 2017, the trio will begin performing on June 14th in Maryland, Heights, MO, and make 28 stops before ending on August 13th in Quincy, WA.

The Chicks tour will feature supporting acts Patty Griffin and Jenny Lewis, and make stops in major cities like Chicago, IL, Cincinnati OH, Denver, CO, and Los Angeles, CA. There’s a lot to celebrate with their 2020 album Gaslighter, which marks the group’s eighth album overall and first in fourteen years. The record also marks their debut as The Chicks, as they dropped the “Dixie” from their name two years ago.

Gaslighter has all the country-pop splendor and catchy hooks that you’d expect from The Chicks, with significant growth that’s natural when you take a decade-and-a-half hiatus. AllMusic gave a four-star rating and stated that the album was “filled with tangled, contradictory emotions, a place where vulnerability signals strength and this complexity conveys how the Chicks have opened up a new chapter in their career.” 

Entertainment Weekly echoed this sentiment, stating that Gaslighter “puts a microscope on emotion” while praising the “restless banjos and ghostly harmonies” that the Chicks have made their own. They’re a country band first and foremost but have no problem slipping in hints of pop and folk-rock, and you’ll witness their musical transition on The Chicks tour. 

We’re also excited to hear their older tracks on The Chicks tour, which many millennials grew up with. These include “Cowboy Take Me Away,” “Long Time Gone,” and “Not Ready to Make Nice,” sprinkled between new songs for a night with The Chicks that celebrates both past and present. The three women – Natalie Maines, Emily Strayer, and Martie Maguire – have been performing together for nearly three decades, and can’t wait to get back onstage for the first The Chicks tour in five years.
