Lewis spent the summer touring with his band, Staind, alongside fellow rock icons Korn, and he’s just as excited for his solo shows. These performances will be a bit more stripped down – with less moshing and more melodic country anthems – and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Lewis is the definition of “a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll.” He’s been the frontman of Staind for 26 years, making his mark in the metal scene while also pursuing a solo career as a country artist for the past decade. With these upcoming shows, he’ll be heading more towards the honky-tonk side.
The fourth solo Aaron Lewis album, Frayed at Both Ends, is scheduled for release in January 2022 – and he’s already shared a few singles with fans. “Goodbye Town” and “Am I the Only One” each tell their own stories, and there are many more tales to unveil on this record.
“Big heartache is part of it,” Lewis told Music Row about his transition to Nashville. “Country music takes on the tough stuff, the doubts, and the working harder to just stay where you are. Writing with guys like Dan Tyminski, who’s sung on some of my earlier records, Jeffrey Steele, Ira Dean, David Lee Murphy, and Chris Wallin all have the same sense of what this is, so I can’t wait for people to get to hear this record.”
