Just imagine: the all-too-familiar tale of Clara and her enchanted journey unfolding against a backdrop of pulsating beats and dynamic choreography. We’re here to assure you that The Hip Hop Nutcracker takes notes from, and does grand justice to, the original ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. However, it also incorporates the urban rhythms of hip-hop and guidance of rap’s founding fathers (like MC Kurtis Bow, who performs an opening set!) to knock your fuzzy holiday socks off.

The Nutcracker’s battle with the Mouse King becomes a high-energy dance-off, transporting the audience into a world where the magic of Tchaikovsky meets the epic moves of New York City streets.
