Elf has become one of the most iconic Christmas films of all time since its 2003 release. It tells how Santa Clause brought a human baby named Buddy home to the North Pole and helped raise him amongst the elves. Elf: The Musical follows the film pretty closely, with a few modern twists. Santa Clause reads his “naughty or nice” list on an iPhone, Buddy makes a scene at Macy’s instead of Gimbels, and the timeline is altered so that Buddy can be much younger or older than the Will Ferrell version. And then there are the musical numbers that will have you feeling as joyous as Buddy himself.
