Chris Rock 2022 Tour Announcement – Ego Death Tour Schedule
Chris Rock is setting out on the Ego Death tour, his first live comedy trek in nearly five years. The comedian will make 38 stops around the country, beginning on April 2nd in Atlantic City, NJ, and continuing through November 17th in Los Angeles, CA.
When you’ve been a comedy staple for nearly four decades like Chris Rock, you’re deserving of a bit of a break. He took time off to showcase his talent in film and TV – starring in the fourth season of the show Fargo, hosting Saturday Night Live for the third time, and participating in a Saw reboot that took him into horror territory. Not much of a vacation for one of the hardest-working comedians in Hollywood, right? But he always knew he’d end up back on the stand-up stage, and he’s delivering both nostalgia and new material on the Ego Death tour.
Rock told Esquire in 2021 that he’s kept a journal of comedic ideas for over thirty years, and it ultimately adds up. “You read it over, and you’re like, Oh, that’s good for stand-up. Or Oh, that would be good for the script,’” he told the publication. “And then there’s some other sh**, you’re like, Oh, when I die, provided I don’t f*** up my career, people are going to think this sh**’s really interesting.”
“Really interesting” is an understatement for Rock’s career, which began in the 1980s as a stand-up comic and actor before he got his big break on Saturday Night Live in the 1990s. Then came his countless other projects, like Everybody Hates Chris, Madagascar, Grown Ups, and more that made him a megastar. The money and fame have only made him funnier, and he can’t wait to return to his roots and make people laugh on the Ego Death tour.
