Yahritza Y Su Esencia has extended the “Obsessed Tour” into 2023! The Mexican trio will begin on October 13th in Milwaukee, WI, making fifteen stops before wrapping up on November 10th in Houston, TX.
This Yahritza Y Su Esencia tour has been going on intermittently since the group of siblings released their debut album, Obsessed, in April 2022. Featuring singles like “Soy el Único” (certified Diamond by the RIAA) and “Esta Noche,” the Platinum-selling record has everybody in the Mexican music world talking! Especially since the group is led by 15-year-old viral sensation Yahritza Martinez, whose one-of-a-kind vocals have been praised by fans and critics alike.
Yahritza made headlines in 2021 when her cover of “Esta Dañada” by Ivan Cornejo blew up on TikTok. Within hours, the Washington-born teen was on the receiving end of dozens of messages and job offers. “It blew up overnight,” Yahritza told Rolling Stone about the cover that started it all. “I was getting so much attention from really big artists, and it inspired me to do more.” She started brainstorming with her siblings, Armando “Mando” and Jairo, about how they could bring their musical roots to fruition. The result was their practically-perfect debut album, and people are, well, Obsessed.
Just how talented are these siblings, who range in age from 15 to 25? Just ask Ramón Ruiz of the group Legado 7, who created the label Lumbre Music that helped to sign Yahritza Y Su Esencia. “I was scrolling through TikTok and came across a video from them,” he said in an interview. “I was blown away by their talent immediately. We spoke to them and flew to Yakima right away to sign them.” He also added that he experienced “something he never felt before while listening to someone’s voice,” and it’s far from the first time that somebody has said this about Yahritza.
Her hauntingly beautiful vocals don’t just stand out in the primarily-male Mexican music landscape, but also capture an earnest, raw, and 100% honest viewpoint that’s wise beyond her years.
