Some may know him as Tej Parker in the Fast and the Furious film series, but Ludacris was an award-winning rapper long before he got behind the wheel of Hollywood’s hottest franchise. He entered the scene in 1999 with his debut album, Incognegro, and released eight more over the years as he racked up recognition and accolades. Millennials may remember listening to songs like “Oh,” “Act a Fool,” and “Get Back” on their iPods in the early 2000s, but the legacy of Ludacris has lived on for decades. And now he’s ready to return to the stage where he began.
He hasn’t released an album since 2015’s Ludaversal, but has stayed plenty involved in the music world. He released a new single, “Butter.ATL.,” last summer, worked alongside Carrie Underwood on her hit song, “The Champion,” and has hinted that his next studio album will happen at some point. Fans have been incredibly patient with Ludacris and his busy schedule, juggling acting, fatherhood, music, and other endeavors, and we know that his next full-length project will be worth the wait.
Despite the wait on his album, Ludacris has kept busy in 2022. He’s worked on his Netflix children’s series, Karma’s World, and released a new line of toys for more diversity.
