Umphrey’s McGee 2023 Tour Announcement – 25th Anniversary Tour Schedule
Umphrey’s McGee has outlined dates for its 25th-anniversary tour, taking the modern jam band to dozens of cities in 2023. They’ll kick off these Umphrey’s McGee concerts on January 12th in Washington, DC, with stops in Brooklyn, NY, Sacramento, CA, Las Vegas, NV, and more before concluding on March 12th with three nights in Aspen, CO.
The band announced this trek with a simple yet surreal tour announcement, putting every Umphrey’s McGee member on display with trademark colorful backdrops and upbeat melodies. All you need to do is look at the comments to see that they’re a really big deal. One YouTube user states that an Umphrey’s McGee concert has “still gotta be one of the coolest live experiences,” while another says, “so great as always. Another XXV years, please!” They’ve been doing this for a quarter century now, making their live performances the bulk of their success, and the band is pulling out all the stops on the 25th anniversary of Umphrey’s McGee.
Just how dedicated are they to performing? The band has been touring through most of 2022, spending the summer with Disco Biscuits and heading into fall with all your favorite hits. You may know the ones we’re talking about… like “Can’t Rock My Dream Face,” “Ocean Billy,” and “Booth Love!” Of course, it’s never too soon for them to start planning their next expedition, and you’ll be in awe of their catalog of both old and new songs.
Their fourteenth and most recent record, Asking For a Friend, was only released in June 2022, and the band has stated that it’s unlike any they’ve done before. Don’t get us wrong, there will be plenty of the progressive rock, funk, and jazz fusions you’ve loved since the late 1990s, but they were extra cautious about every track. Not to give too much away… but you can expect more vocal melodies and old-new vibes from these recovered songs on the upcoming Umphrey’s McGee tour.
