The Used 2024 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Attention, elder emos! A new The Used tour is in the works for the summer of 2024. Joined by Story Of The Year, they’ll begin on June 20th in Gary, IN, continuing through July 13th in Norfolk, VA.
“The Used have been big brothers to Story Of The Year for over 20 years,” says SOTY frontman Dan Marsala. “They were the one of first bands to take us on tour after we finished [debut album] Page Avenue and they played a big part in Story Of The Year becoming the band we are today. I’ve always admired how The Used were the fearless leaders of our early 2000s scene and I’m so proud of the friendship that we built so many years ago.”
Indeed, longtime fans have witnessed the journey of the two bands both separately and as one. From sweating onstage at the Warped Tour (RIP) a full two decades ago, to owning the 2000s with post-hardcore hits, and eventually reuniting at the inaugural When We Were Young Fest in 2022. Now, they’re taking their relationship further with a US tour, in which you can sing along to all your nostalgic favorites.
For The Used, we already have a few setlist requests in mind. They can’t perform without tried-and-true classics like “Take It Away,” “The Taste Of Ink,” “The Bird and The Worm,” or “I Caught Fire,” right? Additionally, Bert McCracken and Co. continue to support their sixth album, 2023’s Toxic Positivity. Described as a “day-in-the-life journey of a depressed, anxiety-ridden person,” new songs like “Numb” and “Giving Up” resonate with longtime fans more than they know.
Remember those outcast teenagers who blasted The Used in their room during the early 2000s? They’re now adults with the same fiery passion in their hearts for their favorite band. And even as singer McCracken goes through a dark period, they’ll always be there to lift him up the same way he did for them all those years ago. That’s what alternative music is all about, right? The emo cycle lives on through the best The Used songs, both old and new, which you’ll hear in a new way on their upcoming trek.
