Taking Back Sunday 2024 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Taking Back Sunday is returning to the road next year! Joined by Citizen, the veteran emo band will begin on May 19th in New Orleans, LA, continuing through August 18th in New York, NY.
“We’ve been on a whirlwind on finishing the record, getting everything ready to put it out, making all the plans,” says Taking Back Sunday, who released their eighth album, 152, this year. “Now comes our other favorite part, getting to visit so many cities in North America and playing live. The set will be a good mixture of albums and the reception for 152 has been so positive that we can’t wait to get out there and play some of those songs for the first time in these cities and make magic all summer.”
Alas, it’s true…fans and critics have been left breathless by 152, the band’s first album in seven years. Taking Back Sunday has come a long way since 2016’s Tidal Wave, and it’s evident in new singles like “The One,” “S’old,” “Amphetamine Smiles,” and “Keep Going.” Frontman Adam Lazzara and Co. took a lot of risks, like incorporating more modern pop into their previously strictly emo and alternative rock tracks. And the payoff has been priceless.
Over the years, Taking Back Sunday has elevated their reputation from emo royalty to more respected alternative rock icons. Sure, we’ll always love the Warped Tour favorites like “Cute Without The ‘E,'” “MakeDamnSure,” “You’re So Last Summer,” and “Liar (It Takes One to Know One).” And the band will most certainly play the classics at these Taking Back Sunday concerts for a sense of nostalgia. But they’re also ready to move on to the next chapter of their musical journey with 152, a title that has more meaning to the band than you may realize.
The number ‘152’ has been featured on every Taking Back Sunday album cover since the band formed in Long Island, NY, nearly 25 years ago. What started as an inside joke, dating back to their teenage years when they would meet up at Exit 152 before driving to gigs, has become a symbol of their progress in the music world. And with the band celebrating not only their new record, but also the 20th anniversary of their sophomore album, Where You Want To Be, in 2004, these shows will be an emotional full-circle moment for all attendees.
Listen to some of the best emo and alternative songs in history on this Taking Back Sunday tour, as it’s guaranteed to be a wild ride for all types of rock music lovers! Tickets are available now for the following dates.
