T-Pain 2023 Tour Announcement – Escape From Wiscansin: The Invasion Tour Schedule
It’s a bird; it’s a plane… it’s T-Pain! The veteran rapper has announced dates for the “Escape From Wiscansin: The Invasion tour,” plus a date for the second annual Wiscansin Fest. He’ll kick off on June 10th in none other than Milwaukee, WI, making stops in Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, New York, NY, and more before wrapping up on July 14th in Atlanta, GA.
The first thing to know about T-Pain is that he’s famous for many things… namely pioneering the use of Autotune in 2000s rap and winning the very first season of The Masked Singer. But perhaps even more important than that is when he rhymed “mansion” with “Wiscansin” in his 2008 hit “Can’t Believe It.” The term has become a crucial bit of vocabulary for T-Pain fans over the past 15 years! And now the rapper himself is more than happy to go back to “Wiscansin University” on his latest trek.
T-Pain (born Faheem Najm) is supporting his seventh and latest release, 2023’s On Top of The Covers, which marks his first full-length project since 2019’s 1UP. While the new album is full of song covers, it’s still uniquely T-Pain in a way that we’ve never seen before. He deviates away from the heavy Autotune that made him famous in favor of his natural voice, which is as smooth and sweet as you’d expect.
He doesn’t just stick to hip-hop, either. Did you ever expect to hear T-Pain covering “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey,” “War Pigs” by Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne, or Dean Dillon’s “Tennessee Whiskey?” We didn’t, but we’re definitely not mad about it, either. The world saw T-Pain’s true vocal chops when he won The Masked Singer, which inspired him to sing freely. No more autotune, more harmonizing than hip-hop verses, and rock covers by a rap hero? Yes, please.
Of course, T-Pain will undoubtedly go back to his roots on the Escape From Wiscansin: The Invasion Tour. He’ll be performing “Can’t Believe It,” the song that changed everything, plus older essentials like “Buy U a Drank,” “Bartender,” “I’m N Luv,” and “I’m Sprung.” We can’t wait to hear every last hit T-Pain song on this trek that covers his nearly two-decade career, as this trip to Wiscansin will be one for the books!
