Rod Wave 2022 Tour Announcement – Beautiful Mind Tour Schedule
Rod Wave is touring soon in support of his fourth album, Beautiful Mind, and it’s the best time to see the Gen Z rapper. He’ll kick off on November 11th in Minneapolis, MN, with stops in St. Louis, MO, Tampa, FL, Long Beach, CA, and more before concluding on December 21st in Seattle, WA.
Beautiful Mind was released in August 2022, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 and becoming Wave’s second consecutive top-charting album after 2021’s SoulFly. Not a bad track record for the barely 24-year-old rapper. He’s quickly made waves (pun intended) with new singles like “By Your Side,” “Cold December,” “Stone Rolling,” and “Alone,” all of which show off his soulful voice like never before. If you thought he sounded incredible through your AirPods or car stereo, just wait until you hear him live at a Rod Wave concert.
Wave’s music has followed similar themes since his 2019 debut, Ghetto Gospel. In their latest album review, Pitchfork lovingly refers to these recurring topics as “bad memories, getting money, navigating haters, reminiscing on lost love, or any combination of the four.” Is it hilariously blunt? Yes, but also unabashedly true. Wave has always been honest about his fear of winding up alone along with his often-lonely rise to the top, but it’s a tried-and-true formula that clearly works. Thousands of fans flock to a Rod Wave concert each night to listen to his top tracks, like “Richer” and “Street Runner,” and we’re getting that it will get up to the millions for the 2022 Rod Wave tour.
In true Gen Z fashion, social media has played a large part in Rod Wave’s rise to prominence. His 2019 single “Heart on Ice” from Ghetto Gospel, went viral on YouTube and TikTok, as audiences empathized with Wave’s own experiences with heartbreak. Meanwhile, the track “Rags2Riches” from his 2020 album Pray 4 Love inspired a “Rod Wave Dance Challenge” on TikTok, in which top influencers like James Charles and Charli D’Amelio participated. Now people are getting off the internet (kind of!) and into the concert crowds in the post-pandemic era, and they’re following Rod Wave across the US on his latest trek. Will you be there?
