Quinn XCII 2023 Tour Announcement – The People’s Tour Schedule
Quinn XCII is coming your way on “The People’s tour!” Fresh off the release of his fifth album, the singer-rapper will kick off on May 5th in Boston, MA, and continue through June 17th in Detroit, MI.
The People’s Champ was released at the end of January, and everybody already has a lot to say about it. The record is classic Quinn XCII, with a blend of pop, hip-hop, and EDM over relatable lyrics… but you can tell that he really went all out this time around. He rejoins his longtime collaborator Chelsea Cutler, plus AJR and Big Sean, on tracks like “The Lows,” “Being Me,” “Common,” and “Too Late.” These songs represent the need to be true to yourself and not exactly become “the people’s change,” but rather realize that you already were the whole time.
“Even five records in, I feel like I still have to fight for my stripes and prove myself,” says Quinn XCII.” “My career, to me, has always felt like an underdog story, so even though the deeper message of the album is to be yourself, I thought ‘The People’s Champ’ was a fitting double entendre that could also represent my view of where I currently stand in the music industry.” He may have played major music festivals like Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball, and Coachella all in 2022 alone, but Quinn XCII (born Mikael Temrowski) still has self-esteem issues like all of us. He tackles them head-on with The People’s Champ, going into the recording process blindly and coming out with what could possibly be his best album yet.
“Looking back at that now, I think I was making the album I wanted to make the entire time. I just didn’t realize it,” he told Variance Magazine, recalling the time in the studio simply writing and recording without an agenda. “I was just focusing on being. And being present. And making music just to make music, rather than trying to become something or build out this really thought-out narrative and have all these songs and intertwined with them, and there’s like this big message behind it.”
“I wanted to remind myself that, you know, you’re already your own ‘people’s champ.’,” he continues, “I think we’re so accustomed to trying to become something rather than just sit with who we already are.” As for who Quinn XCII already is? It’s pretty incredible. He’s risen to the ranks for over a decade with his signature blend of electronic, mainstream pop, and hip-hop music. Needless to say, his singles like “U & US,” “Straightjacket,” and “Always Been You” live rent-free in our minds and Spotify Wrapped lists. He’s excited to celebrate new beginnings, plus the amazing artist he always has been, on this Quinn XCII tour, and hopes to see you there! Get your Quinn XCII tickets today.
