Omar Apollo is heading on the “Prototype tour” alongside Rayn Lenae, and it’s a great time to see the rising artist. He’ll kick off this trek on October 21st in San Diego, CA, with stops in Los Angeles, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, Charlotte, NC, and more before concluding on November 29th in Toronto, ON.
This Omar Apollo tour supports his debut album, Ivory, which premiered in April 2022. Containing singles like “Go Away,” “Bad Life,” “Invincible,” and “Killing Me,” it’s a strong debut by the Gen Z artist loved by fans and critics alike. However, the album release took a bit longer than Apollo would have liked, as Ivory went through an entire rewrite at his request. “I had this feeling that I didn’t want to promote or tour this music,” Apollo told NPR about the initial batch of songs, “I wasn’t excited about it. It was good music — it wasn’t bad music, but it didn’t feel like me.” Many long nights and lovingly patient anecdotes from fans later, Ivory was born.
