Are you feeling a bit of deja vu? That very well may be true, as Rogers just released dates for part one of the Don’t Forget Me tour last month. These intimate shows are guaranteed to heat up your summer, and have already sold out in dozens of cities. But for those who missed out on the first round of tickets, or simply would like to see a Maggie Rogers concert in colder weather, her new fall dates are the real deal.
Rogers will be performing in major venues like United Center in Chicago, IL, Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, WA, and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, CA, a true testament to her rapid rise to fame. In the past few years alone, she’s become a GRAMMY nominee, earned over one billion global streams, and headlined music festivals like Coachella, Governor’s Ball, and Lollapalooza!
She’s also earned praise on her serene voice and introspective songwriting from the world’s biggest artists…which, not-so-ironically, is how her career skyrocketed in the first place. Who can forget her first hit “Alaska,” which went viral after being promoted by Pharrell Williams when Rogers was still an NYU student? She’s only gone up from there with her last two, albums, 2019’s Heard It In a Past Life and 2022’s Surrender, and Don’t Forget Me will be even more influential for her career.
“I wanted to make an album that sounded like a Sunday afternoon,” Rogers says about the project. “Worn in denim. A drive in your favorite car. No make up, but the right amount of lipstick. Something classic. The mohair throw and bottle of Whiskey in Joan Didion’s motel room. An old corvette. Vintage, but not overly Americana. I wanted to make an album to belt at full volume alone in your car, a trusted friend who could ride shotgun and be there when you needed her.”
Is it a vibe? Absolutely. And you’ll witness Rogers in all her Don’t Forget Me glory on the second leg of this trek. With new songs like the titular track and “So Sick of Dreaming” on the setlist, plus classics like , you’ll be swept into a new world of vintage aesthetics and folk-favorite vocals.
