Los Bukis 2021 Tour Announcement – Reunion Tour Schedule
It seems that 2021 is the year for reunion concert tours, and Mexican band Los Bukis is joining in on the fun. These eight shows will mark the first time that the group has performed together in 25 years, and fans are excited to hear grupero hits from the stage again.
The Los Bokis tour announcement was made at the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles in early June, with five members present. This includes Marco Antonio Solis — a key member who left the band in 1996 to pursue a solo career. After Marco’s departure, Los Mismos (The Same Ones) was formed with the remaining members going on to release 11 studio albums.
Even with both Antionio Solis and Los Mismos making waves in the grupera music genre, one cannot forget the success of Los Bukis. The group formed in 1975, and released top-selling grupera hits for over two decades.
Of all sixteen Los Bukis albums, 1987’s Me Volvi a Acordar de Ti was certainly one of the most famous. It sold over a million copies in just a few weeks, helping to make Los Bukis one of the biggest Latin bands in the world.
What inspired the grupera band to reconnect after all this time? According to Marco Antonio Solis, the solitude during the COVID-19 pandemic helped them to go “deep into their conscience and see what was there.” 2020 was a time for reflection… and it’s brought Los Bukis back together for the first time in decades!
