Kneecap aren’t just coming to North America in 2025, they’re kicking down the door and screaming into the abyss. The hip-hop duo is finally hopping over to the US, with the 2025 Kneecap concerts extending through October 28th in Oakland, CA.
The Belfast trio have spent the past few years building a cult following at home — rapping in a mix of Irish and English, turning politics into punchlines, and partying like it’s both the end of the world and the start of something new. Their live shows already have a reputation for being funny and chaotic, and now we finally get to experience it across the pond. Their sophomore album, Fine Art, came out last year and pushed them past novelty status into serious critical acclaim. It landed on year-end lists from the likes of Vogue, The Sunday Times, and NME… while singles like “Better Way to Live,” “Love Making,” and “Sick in the Head” proved Kneecap knows choruses as well as controversies. Sure, they’re not afraid to get political, but it’s part of what makes their music so epic.
“We’ve been touring for years and our live shows really build the energy. We wanted to emulate that for the album,” Móglaí Bap, ½ of Kneecap, said in an interview with NME. “The whole thing sums up the fun and the craic of our gigs. We have the interludes and all that. We always wanted to incorporate the idea of a concept album because we like the storytelling and we like having one massive piece of art. Hopefully we’ll have the second trilogy of these albums.”
We can only hope. But for now? The 2025 Kneecap tour in the US will do just fine. They’ve already been banned from a country or two this year over their political beliefs, and they’re proud of it.
