Kirk Franklin and Maverick City Music 2022 Tour Announcement – Kingdom Tour Schedule
Kirk Franklin and Maverick City Music have extended their “Kingdom tour” into fall 2022, taking the two iconic gospel artists to fourteen major cities. They’ll kick off on November 3rd in New York, NY, making stops in Boston, MA, Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, FL, and more before concluding on the 22nd in Austin, TX.
Franklin and Maverick City Music first set out together in summer 2022, and soon earned a reputation for one of the best tours of the year. With over 10,000 fans in attendance each night, selling out massive venues like Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, it’s safe to say that the entire country felt the power of these two prominent contemporary worship artists. So much so, that fans begged on social media for the Kingdom tour to come to their city! Franklin and Maverick City Music happily obliged, and are now hitting up even more major venues for a night of uplifting lyrics and faith-filled verses.
While the two artists have collaborated together in the past, the Kingdom tour marked a new era for Kirk Franklin and Maverick City Music. Their voices bounce off each other effortlessly and make the crowd sing along religiously, no pun intended, and we can only hope it’s the beginning of a long and successful partnership. The extension of the Kingdom tour is a blessing in every way, and we can’t wait to see them perform both solo and simultaneously.
Franklin has been a solo artist since the 1990s, dubbed the “Reigning King of Urban Gospel” by Variety with 16 Grammys and several legendary gospel choirs under his belt. The Kingdom tour will continue to support his twelfth album, 2019’s Long, Live, Love, although fans have speculated that he may have some new music in the pipeline. In addition to these Kirk Franklin concerts, you can also look forward to seeing him show off his producing and acting chops this holiday season. He’s producing and starring in a new Lifetime movie, called Kirk Franklin’s The Night Before Christmas, which premieres amidst the Kingdom tour dates!
As for Maverick City Music? They’ve only been around for a few years but have already made their mark on the gospel scene. They’re composed of roughly nine members who sing your favorite worship songs to perfection, as proven by their eight live albums. One of them was even a collaborative effort with Elevation Worship! They’ve also won a Billboard Music Award and GMA Dove Award, while they have four pending nominations at the 2022 Grammys.
