Kirk Franklin and Maverick City Music 2022 Tour Announcement – Kingdom Tour Schedule
Kirk Franklin and Maverick City Music are embarking on a co-headlining trek in summer 2022, dubbed the Kingdom tour. The massive expedition begins on June 1st in Miami, FL, and visits 37 cities before ending on July 31st in Denver, CO.
The two artists are iconic in the world of gospel, and you’ll be feeling faithful and forever grateful for these contemporary worship songs. Kirk Franklin and Maverick City Music have collaborated in the past, but the Kingdom tour will be one of their biggest joint efforts yet. Both have a long catalog of contemporary gospel hits for the setlist, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they join forces a few nights for a faith-filled duet.
Franklin has been a solo artist since the 1990s, dubbed the “Reigning King of Urban Gospel” by Variety with 16 Grammys and several legendary gospel choirs under his belt. The Kingdom tour will continue to support his twelfth album, 2019’s Long, Live, Love, although fans have speculated that he may have some new music in the works. His incredible stage presence is smooth as his velvety voice, and he’s certainly a sight to behold on the Kingdom tour.
As for Maverick City Music? They’ve only been around for four years but have already made their mark on the gospel scene. They’re composed of roughly nine members who sing your favorite worship songs to perfection, as proven by their eight live albums. One of them was even a collaborative effort with Elevation Worship! They’ve also won a Billboard Music Award and GMA Dove Award, while they have four pending nominations at the 2022 Grammys.
