Hans Zimmer 2024 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
Hans Zimmer is heading on his first US trek in seven years, taking the beloved film composer to seventeen cities. He’ll begin on September 6th in Duluth, GA, and continue through October 6th in Vancouver, BC.
Hans Zimmer hardly needs an introduction, as the 2x-Academy Award winner has crafted musical compositions for the most profound films of all time. From The Lion King and Gladiator to Pirates of the Carribean and The Dark Knight (plus dozens more), his creations have quite literally been the soundtrack to our lives. And as much as you love hearing them while curled up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn, imagine how epic these scores will be in the country’s biggest venues!
The last time we saw him perform was at the 2017 Coachella Music Festival, and Zimmer is long overdue for an onstage re-debut. With support from his friends Pharrell Williams and Johnny Marr, who told him that he “couldn’t hide behind a screen forever,” he planned the mother of all Hans Zimmer tours. An artsy extravaganza where fans of music, film, and pop culture can meet to relive cinematic history…especially if they just got back from watching the all-new Dune 2, also scored by Zimmer.
Described as having an uncomplicated onstage setup with no conductor, sheet music, or fancy screens displaying stills from Zimmer’s movies, this trek will be a pure and simple delight for film buffs. But don’t think that means you’ll be bored, as the beloved composer has quite the show prepared. “I come from rock and roll and I believe in putting on a show,” he told AP. “People stay with us because we give them an experience which they’ve never had before.”
“Life is hard. Life is tough these days,” he continues. “And people worked hard to go to pay for these tickets, so we better pull off a show that is absolutely worthy of them coming and seeing us.” Speaking of his loyal fans, Zimmer also discussed how much he loves seeing a diverse group of faces in the crowd. Loved ones have bonded over Zimmer’s compositions for decades now, after all, and a live performance is the perfect opportunity to relive the love, laughter, and limitless memories.
“I’ve looked out at the audience and there’s a mom with her grandson sitting next to a guy with a mohawk, sitting next to a man in a business suit, sitting next to another bunch of, you know, bikers,” Zimmer said. “So, it’s not just multi-generational, it’s multicultural.” Will it be bittersweet to hear Hans Zimmer play out the dramatic soundscapes that you remember from Mufasa’s horrific death in The Lion King?
