Gov’t Mule 2022 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule

Gov’t Mule has announced new tour dates for spring 2022, with 20 shows across the country. The trek begins on April 6th in Syracuse, NY, and hits cities like Philadelphia, PA, Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA, and more before ending on the 30th in Tuscaloosa, AL.

“We’ve really been looking forward to getting back out on the road and doing a ‘proper’ tour to play all these new songs,” vocalist Warren Haynes said in a statement. “I don’t know who’s more excited – the fans or the band. We can’t wait to get back to playing every night.”

“Most of these venues are ones we’ve played before and love, but there are a few new places we’re eager to visit,” he continued. “We’re also thrilled to reschedule our New Year’s shows and continue our ‘Black and Blue’ theme, which I think is different from what people may have expected.” 

This will be the first Gov’t Mule tour since their latest album, Heavy Load Blues, was released in November 2021. The Southern rock band has never been more ready to get back on stage, and can’t wait to play these tracks from their very first blues album. Yes, it’s their first. It may have been nearly three decades since Haynes and Allen Woody began Gov’t Mule as a side project of the Allman Brothers Band, but they’ve finally decided to use their Southern charm in a bluesy and beautiful way, and you’ll be obsessed with these jazz-inspired tracks.

The jam band will be playing an assortment of bluesy originals from Warren Haynes, including “Hole in My Soul,” “Wake Up Dead,” and “Blues Before Sunrise.” These tracks will sound blue-tiful on every stop of this Gov’t Mule tour, but we’re especially looking forward to their annual stop at New Orleans Jazzfest. It’s a tradition that was halted for a couple of years due to the pandemic, but Haynes and his bandmates are ready to return to the city for a taste of culture, good food, and incredible live tunes.
