George Strait 2024 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
George Strait has extended his stadium tour into 2024! Joined once again by Chris Stapleton, the “King of Country” will begin on May 4th in Indianapolis, IN. He’ll stop in nine cities before concluding on December 7th in Las Vegas, NV.
“I’ve always said we have the best fans in the world,” Strait said in a statement, referring to the country music community that adores himself and Stapleton. “To see so many of them show up for these shows just makes us want to keep bringing them more.” Mutual appreciation, two sultry-voiced men in cowboy hats, and incredible country hits every night? It doesn’t get much better than that. And it’s just the beginning of the grand surprises you’ll get on the 2024 George Strait tour.
This year featured the first George Strait concerts to take place in a stadium in over a decade, since 2012’s “The Cowboy Rides Away Tour.” Funny enough, that was supposed to be his last hoorah. But Strait has just kept getting better and better! From performing at major festivals to befriending his genre-mates in both the neotraditional country and country-pop spaces (or both, in Stapleton’s case), it’s easy to see that this modern cowboy is in his prime.
Strait rose to fame in the 1980s with his classic cowboy style, which differed from the crop of country-pop artists at the time. The Texas native released hits like “Amarillo by Morning,” “I Cross My Heart,” and “The Cowboy Rides Away” over the decades. And while we could name dozens more chart-toppers, just know that every last one has earned Strait the title of the “King of Country Music!” Of course, Stapleton isn’t far behind. And he’s been open about the remarkable journey of supporting this George Strait tour.
“I love doing these shows with George about as much as I like doing anything. There’s nothing to compare it to,” Stapleton says. “So many of his songs are in the ethos of what country music is. Playing these shows together is a great experience all the way around.” Casual reminder: the fans have just as much fun as the two artists onstage, and you can’t miss the chance to see George Strait!
