From his signature rainbow dreadlocks and flamboyant onstage outfits to the iconic funk music that helped define the genre in the 1970s and beyond, the sight of George Clinton is simply unmatched. Clinton’s collective not only helped pioneer Afrofuturism, but had a major impact in the 1980s-1990s on genres like post-punk, hip-hop, and techno in the 1980s and 1990s.
