Feist 2023 Tour Announcement – Multitudes Tour Schedule
Feist is heading back on the road in spring 2023, and with some new songs in tow! The Canadian singer will kick off on May 2nd in Madison, WI, continuing through May 19th in Montreal, QC.
Supporting her upcoming sixth album, Multitudes, this Feist tour has been a long time coming. This will be her first new project in nearly six years, since 2017’s Pleasure, and the 47-year-old songstress can’t wait to perform a mix of classic Feist and modern indie pop. New songs like “In Lightning,” plus its super-majestic music video, show that she’s at the top of her game. “When in lightning flashes flash/And thunder loves me back,” she sings. “And in lightning/I can keep my energy intact/And when the lightning is like the sun/I feel what love could be.” It’s a powerful sentiment from one of the best indie-pop artists of our time, and it’s just the beginning of what we’ll hear on this Feist album.
“The last few years were such a period of confrontation for me, and it feels like it was at least to some degree for everyone,” Feist shared in a statement. “We confronted ourselves as much as our relationships confronted us. It felt like our relational ecosystems were clearer than ever and so whatever was normally obscured — like a certain way of avoiding conflict or a certain way of talking around the subject — were all of a sudden thrust into the light. And in all that reassessment, the chance to find footing on healthier, more honest ground became possible, and the effort to maintain avoidance actually felt like it took more effort than just handing ourselves over to the truth.”
Is it a deep statement? Yes. Will it manifest itself into some of the best indie-pop songs of 2023? Absolutely. Feist lived up to her name all through the 2000s with indie-pop hits like “1234,” “I Feel It All,” and “My Moon My Man,” which was basically the soundtrack to 2007, and now she’s back with even more future party essentials. “In Lightning” is the only song she’s released so far from Multitudes, but you can expect to hear them all live on the upcoming Feist tour!
