Elle King 2022 Tour Announcement – A-FREAKING MEN Tour Schedule
Elle King is hitting the road for a headlining trek, dubbed the “A-FREAKING MEN tour!” The Americana singer will kick off on February 14th in New Orleans, LA, making stops in Asheville, NC, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, and more before concluding on March 25th in Bossier City, LA.
“I am so excited to be going back out on tour, not just because I love to perform, but because I’m finally putting out a new record,” says King, “I have put all of my energy and love into this album, and I cannot wait to share it live for everyone.” Her third album, Come Get Your Wife, is set for release in 2023 and marks her first full-length country album after years of releasing mostly blues-rock favorites. Sure, she’s dipped her toes into Nashville-style hits with collaborations like “Different for Girls” alongside Dierks Bentley and “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” with Miranda Lambert, but this is Kings’ chance to kick up her heels. And she’s going to show you exactly why she belongs in the country music world on this Elle King tour.
The name of this trek derives from a lyric from “Try Jesus,” an all-new song featured on Come Get Your Wife. Already, fans can tell the difference between the new track and King’s classics, like the Grammy-nominated “Ex’s and Oh’s.” She’s always had a bit of twang to her voice and appreciation for “rootsy” sound, but now she’s a next-level country artist. While she’s kept the rest of the singles from her new album under wraps, we wouldn’t be surprised if she was singing about trucks, girls’ night out, and line dancing a la your favorite country toppers. Only time will tell, so we’re so excited to hear Come Get Your Wife in January 2023!
Where did the album title come from, exactly? It’s a pretty cheeky story. “Remember that one time I was beating some a**hole at a game, and he yelled, ‘Come get your wife!’ to my partner!?!? And I’m not even married!” King said on Instagram. “Thanks for the album title, babe,” King reiterated, “Each track comes from influences of all genres, and I now know country music is where I belong.” We can definitely agree, and we can’t wait to see her country tracks up close and personal on the Elle King tour.
