Duran Duran 2024 Tour Announcement – US Tour Schedule
You’re in for a spooky good time at the upcoming Duran Duran tour! The pop band is bringing their latest album, Danse Macabre, to life on the road, including a much-anticipated Halloween show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. They’ll kick off on October 21st in Allentown, PA, visiting seven cities before wrapping up on November 2nd in Manchester, NH.
Danse Macabre, the English band’s sixteenth album, was released last October — a synth-pop masterpiece that celebrated all things Halloween. Featuring three new tracks, some covers, and reimagined takes on old Duran Duran songs, this concept album quickly became one of the most beautifully strange things the band has ever done. And this year, they intend to do the record justice with some over-the-top and eerily fun performances.
“The song ‘Danse Macabre’ celebrates the joy and madness of Halloween,” says Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes. “The idea was born out of a show we played in Las Vegas on October 31st, 2022. We had decided to seize the moment to create a unique, special event…the temptation of using glorious gothic visuals set to a dark soundtrack of horror and humor was simply irresistible.”
“That evening inspired us to explore further and to make an album, using Halloween as the key theme,” he continued. “Emotion, mood, style and attitude have always been at the heart of Duran Duran’s DNA, we search for light in the darkness and darkness in the light, and I feel we have somehow managed to capture the essence of all of that in this project.”
The band is promising “a unique production featuring the hits alongside songs from the crypt,” and we can hardly wait! Will they dress up like wolves on Halloween to sing what’s arguably their biggest hit, “Hungry Like the Wolf?” Or incorporate other costumes for Duran Duran favorites like “Ordinary World,” “Invisible,” or “The Reflex?” Only time will tell, but it’s safe to say that the Danse Macabre era is one of their most exciting yet.
