Your favorite outlaw cowboy is coming home! Cody Jinks is all set for the “Change the Game Tour” in 2024, beginning on April 11th in Cedar Rapids, IA. He’ll perform in Nashville, TN, Santa Clara, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, and more before concluding on August 9th in Houston, TX.
“Just released some dates for the CHANGE THE GAME Tour,” Jinks wrote on Instagram with the “rock on” emoji. “Bringing along some badass artists. Blackberry Smoke, The Steel Woods, and Ward Davis.” You can’t beat a Southern country-rock lineup like that! Expect rage-filled riffs, lyrics about knocking back beers, cowboy attire and everything in between. Along with his classic hits, he’s also come out with a few new singles that show you exactly who this Texas boy really is.
First, there’s the song that this Cody Jinks tour is named for, which he debuted last year during a Las Vegas concert. There’s also his brand-new song called “Outlaws and Mustangs,” a neo-traditional country-inspired track that slows things down. It can only be described as bittersweet, with the first couple of verses explaining how “the world tears down all those who go astray” and how “we pay a price for going our own way.” However, by the chorus, things have taken an uplifting turn.
“You outlaws and mustangs, restless and on the run/ Oh, come all you misfit daughters and you prodigal sons,” Jinks sings. “You don’t have to apologize, for your free, exploring mind….” now that’s more like it! Cody Jinks has always been a free spirit, with his wispy beard blowing in the wind as he sings about both the good and bad points of his Texas-bred life.
